Learning data are collected and analysed to better understand how students learn online and which learning patterns can be identified.
what will we do?
This project will measure, collect and analyse learning data of students in 4 different types of online language and maths courses in 3 European universities. The goal is to map existing learning patterns and to feed back this new knowledge to the most important educational actors themselves, being the students and their lecturers.
We want to use a bottom-up learning analytics approach by taking the perspective of the learning process, focusing on the courses used and the students’ learning trails through these courses.
The collection of data will be based on the new Experience API specification for interoperability with other learning environments (e.g. mobile apps, games) and reporting tools. For the analysis of the data, we intend to use process mining techniques.
