Sclater Digital Ltd is a consultancy and training company specialising in e-learning, educational technology and distance learning.

Consultant and Director, Niall Sclater, has more than 20 years of experience of innovation in online and distance education. He has worked at Glasgow University, Strathclyde University and The Open University, where he was Director of Learning and Teaching. Niall Sclater is Learning Analytics consultant for Jisc and has drafted a Code of Practice for Learning Analytics for UK higher and further education. He has published widely, presented all over the World and worked on many collaborative national and international projects – all in areas related to the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching. A recent publication is his book ‘Learning Analytics explained‘.

Ben Betts
CEO HT2Labs, expert learning & performance technology

“xAPI, logs and three simple steps to predict the future…”

Ben Betts is an entrepreneur, technologist, and social learning expert. Ben and his team at HT2Labs develop products and services for online learning. In his role as CEO of HT2Labs, Ben developed the Curatr Social Learning platform and the open source learning record store Learning Locker. He has worked with Google, Accenture, KPMG, Pearson Education, Oxford University, Cambridge University, BP, Twitter, Nike, Barclays, Shell, Xerox, and many more. Ben writes and speaks about social and peer-to-peer learning around the world, and has made an appearance at TEDx. He has contributed to four books in the last two years and published peer-reviewed academic papers and magazine articles. He completed a doctorate at the University of Warwick, UK, where he studied the application of social learning in the workplace. He also holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute.
